The Temporary Accommodation Service was activated on 2 June 2022 in response to damage caused by the tornado.
Our matching and placement coordinators are working with affected households to understand their housing needs, identify temporary accommodation options, and provide guidance on how to access support services such as insurance advice and financial assistance.

In the National Civil Defence Emergency Management Plan Order 2015, the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment (MBIE) is the agency responsible for the co-ordination of the provision of temporary accommodation.
